The Pitfalls of Independence.

First and foremost let us clear up an issue. The independence that this post will pertain to is not the DPP's eventual agenda of an independent Taiwan. No the independence that will be delved into will be mental independence and free will on Taiwan. Over the past half a century Taiwan has progressed from the heyday of the tyrannical Chiang Kai Shek to the relatively openness and freedom of choice of today. However, there is still much that needs to be improved. What I am indicating is called "free thinking" and the autonomy of the individual.

But, what does all this mean? Simply put many people in Taiwan are still afraid and fearful. Fearful of expressing themselves. It is often a Taiwanese mentality to be inured to bad environments. Their response has often been something of this nature. "Oh well that is just the way things are we have to accept it." You name it in the past they have accepted. Bad working environments where the boss PAYS YOU GARBAGE 30,000 a month then treats you like garbage for a job that has minimal benefits Taiwanese have accepted. Bad relationships between couples have also been accepted. You name it in the past Taiwanese people have accepted and tolerated garbage.

While this does seem bad Taiwanese people are starting to change. There is more free thinking occurring and it's only gaining momentum. This should be viewed in a positive and beneficial light however it isn't. Why? Because this type thinking and increased awareness will disrupt the order of Taiwanese society. IE the order of a bunch of drones that just work like mindless slaves. What's wrong with questioning an obviously flawed system.

Ok lets do a run down. Let's talk about many my friends who work in Taiwan. They work in finance firms and get paid a bullshit 1,200 USD salary for a job they would get 6,000 USD a month for in America. Keep in mind it's the same job function. So if someone expresses the fact that they don't think working a crappy a job where the company makes a lot of money underpays you and on top of that even mistreats is a good idea they're considered evil? Give me a break and grow up people. In America people get mistreated all the time at work at least they get paid decent salary regular raises and A PROFESSIONAL work environment. Now in Taiwanese company you get paid garbage, they yell at you and insult you in front of ALL YOUR CO WORKERS, and then they pay you a salary that is befitting of a man servant or maid in America. I'm just surprised people on this island have accepted these idiotic circumstances for this loNG.

Furthermore why is complaining so bad? Oh it's because Taiwanese people rank low on self improvement or taking responsibility. An employee leaves because they work shit hours for shit pay. It's gotta to be the employees fault. Oh no no no it's not your fault for calling the worker a pig, lazy and worthless. It's not the boss' fault at all because when people sign up for employment they're just DIEING to be personally insulted at a place that already pays low and offers no growth unless you're the biggest sycophant ass kisser in the office. Unless you're that as my friend said "They just ride your talent they use you to make 600,000 and pay you 35,000 I'm not dealing with this shit i'm going to get my MBA and work in New York it's the same hours but more pay and has growth".

So is free thinking really bad? No it's not bad. Taiwanese people are just beginning to realize there is more to life than just saying YES TO EVERYTHING. People now realize they don't need accept abysmal jobs, bad boyfriends or girlfriends, or do things just because people say so. This type of thinking is only getting stronger and stronger. But it's common sense. There is only so much you can do. Sooner or later people will begin to question things that are wrong.

So you idiots who believe the old ways can believe what you want. You can make independent people outcasts(which is probably why in Taiwan many girls that are single aren't ugly or pretty it's usually the ones that you can't push around and actually look like they can form their own thinking). Fact is this new type of thinking is not going to be stopped.
